ICRA2017 DJI RoboMasters MMC Technical Report Requirements
2017-02-22
The ICRA 2017 DJI RoboMasters Mobile Manipulation Challenge is a global robotics competition jointly held by The ICRA2017 Robotics Challenge Committee and The RoboMasters Committee.
All entrants need to complete and submit technical reports within a designated period of time, which will then be reviewed by the committee. Only entrants with approved technical reports will be qualified to participate in the competition.
I: Report Requirements:
A technical report must consist of word documents and videos.
(I)Video
1.Video Requirements:
Must simulate the competition scenario by showing robots carry building blocks from the starting area to the working area, and build a structure of at least 60cm in height.
2.Video Format:
1) Basic information such as school name, date and location must be shown at the start of the video,
2) Videos should be captured in good lighting conditions to that the robots’ movement can clearly be seen.
3) Each procedure showing robots performing tasks need to come with subtitles or notes, and each task clearly explained by a narrator.
4) Do not demonstrate too many common movements in the video and keep the video duration below 5 minutes.
5) Video editing is allowed with the exception of special effects.
(II)Word documents:
1.Font: Times New Roman 10 point
2.Length: Max. 4 A4 pages
3. Content:
1) Robot engineering timeline
2) 3D rendering of robot showing build structure, functionality, and how mechanical arms are controlled.
3D image and two-dimensional views of three-dimensional objects:

Image explanation: The chassis adopts ***suspension system, four Mecanum wheels able to move in any directions, 2-axis gimbal, 17mm friction-wheel bullet trigger mechanism. Batteries are installed in the middle-rear position of the chassis, the main controller is located under the gimbal, and a chassis that follows the movement of the gimbal. . *** program empowers the robot to automatically shoot targets; and *** program enables the robot to autonomously avoid obstacles or follow a target.
3) Include system charts and explanatory notes regarding navigation system and robot strategies.
4)Include a plan of obstacle sensing and positioning of the robot.
5)The image of the actual robot, showing the entire build.
Example:

II. How to submit
Each entrant is allowed to submit their report only once, before the deadline of 12:00 noon 20th April Beijing Time (UTC+8:00). Only entrants with technical reports approved by the committee are qualified for entering the competition.
1. Videos: Video format can be rm\rmvb\wmv\avi\mp4\3gp\mkv. To ensure the image quality, entrants are encouraged to upload password protected videos to YouTube, and include video links and passwords in the word document.
2. Collecting videos, images and word files: Include all word files, images, video links and passwords in a PDF and send it to robomasters@dji.com
3. PDF file name:School name + team name + ICRA technical report;
